Ruth Zumwalt (1971 -2019) was the epitome of an educator. She spent 20 years in the classroom, with her focus primarily on teaching high school biology. She spent her last two years as Edmond Public School's Science Content Specialist. Anyone who ever met Ruth knew that she was first and foremost an educator and an avid champion of females in education. The scholarship is open to senior female students graduating from Edmond Public Schools and going into the field of education. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in teaching science, math or STEM. Applications for this scholarship will be announced in the 2023-2024 school year for seniors entering college in Fall 2024.
